Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of using a sauna?
Saunas provide numerous benefits, including relaxation, improved circulation, detoxification through sweating, and potential relief from muscle soreness and joint pain.
How many people can fit inside your saunas?
Our barrel sauna models accommodate 2, 4, or 6 people. Container sauna capacity depends on the model: Model R accommodates 4–6 people, Model A accommodates 8–10 people, and Model X accommodates 6–8 people. Model X includes a separate changing room with two changing stalls. Container saunas are available with electric or wood-fired stoves.
What materials are your saunas made from?
Our barrel saunas are crafted from high-quality Canadian Red Cedar, known for its durability, natural resistance to water, insects and decay, and aromatic properties that enhance the sauna experience.
Do I need special plumbing or electrical setup for a sauna?
For electric heated saunas, yes, you will need to hire your own electrician or we can provide one externally. The electric heaters need 220v hardwired hook ups to a 40amp breaker. As for wood-fired, no additional work is needed beyond the build.
How long does it take to assemble an Almost Heaven DIY barrel sauna?
Assembly times vary based on the size and model, but typically, two people can assemble a sauna in a day or two if it's your first time and you have the right tools. If you're handy, a half-day would be a safe bet if you have some helping hands.
For our custom models, we show up and assemble onsite in 2-4 hours on average, depending on where abouts you want it. But we do this quite often, so we don't expect you to know right off the bat if you choose to DIY.
What kind of maintenance is required for a sauna?
Regular maintenance is minimal. Periodically, you may want to clean the interior and exterior with a mild detergent and water, and treat the wood with a wood finish for aesthetic reasons should you choose. However, we use Red Cedar in all of our builds, which is naturally water and pest repellent, and lasts longer than other woods.
What kind of heater do your saunas use?
Our saunas use Harvia sauna stoves, whether electric or wood-fired. However, we also use a couple other local, American owned stove builders to source wood-stoves in some builds.
Are your saunas customizable?
Our barrel saunas are not, but we do offer some customization options with our shipping container saunas. Inquire for specific requests as we handle custom ideas on a project-basis.
What warranty do you offer on your saunas?
Woods & Water provides a limited two (2) year workmanship warranty on container saunas and custom sauna work only, covering defects under normal commercial use. This does not apply to Almost Heaven barrel kits or Harvia products, which have their own manufacturer warranties. Third-party components, including sauna heaters manufactured by Harvia, are subject solely to the manufacturer’s warranty. The Woods & Water workmanship warranty excludes normal wear, wood movement, environmental exposure, improper installation, misuse, condensation-related corrosion, or failure to follow operating instructions. Seller’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid under the Agreement. See our Terms & Conditions for the full warranty terms.
What are your payment terms?
We require a 50% deposit and a signed purchase agreement to initiate any purchase. We then charge the remaining balance after completion and delivery. Ask us about consumer financing options!
